Analysis of soil - Soil, compost, sewage sludge

The soil analysis in the department of chemical and physical analytics covers the examination of soils and sediments of all kind. The laboratory is accredited for the matrices soil, contaminated soil, agricultural used soil , sludge, sewage sludge and sewage sludge as well as compost and biowaste following DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025.

We offer long standing experience and outstanding competence in

• consulting in all questions around the soil analysis
• representative sampling and careful sample homogenization
• the determination of numerous inorganic and organic compounds
• the analysis of complex matrices and mixtures
• method development and method validation
• the assessment of results on the basis of the sample specification
• the solution of complex, analytical problems

Key aspects of soil analysis are:

• monitoring of pollutants especially on contaminated sites
• control of the nutrient content of agricultural land
• analysis of fertilizers, substrates and compost
• studies on the elution behaviour and the plant availability of trace elements and organic compounds

Moder analyzers and suitable techniques for sample preparation and precise analysis are available:

• precise analysis of main components with adjusted, wet chemical methods
• determination of key parameters like TOC and AOX
• routine trace analysis of inorganic parameters, e.g. with ICP-AES , AAS and ion chromatography
• routine trace analysis of organic parameters, e.g. GC-MS, GC, HPLC
• specialties like column elution methods

These methods are verified and enhanced permanently.
